Atomuffler® Series

The ALWITCO Atomuffler® is a world-class industrial pneumatic silencer manufactured by the Allied Witan Company. It is specifically designed to reduce explosive exhaust noise from compressed air systems and air-operated equipment without hindering machine performance.

The Atomuffler® is compatible with a wide range of compressed air filters, reciprocating tools, rotary screw air compressors, and pneumatic valves across general manufacturing and automotive industries.

Equipment & Core Pneumatic Applications:
  • Pneumatic Valves: Installed on the exhaust ports of directional control valves to soften the rapid, loud "pop" of releasing air.
  • Pneumatic Cylinders: Applied to mechanical stroke systems to silence the return-stroke or end-of-cycle exhaust venting.
  • Air Motors & Tools: Used with rotary or reciprocating air motors, impact tools, and pneumatic hoists to maintain quiet workspace operations.
  • Air Dryers & Compressors: Used as specialized dual-stage filtration mufflers (such as the X-Series) on desiccant air dryers during the intense purge cycle.
  • Industrial Blowers & Vacuum Pumps: Placed on high-volume exhaust paths to reduce acoustic resonance and collect discharged oil aerosol

Industry-Specific Applications:
  • General Manufacturing: Integrated on assembly lines, conveyor transfer systems, and pick-and-place pneumatic machinery.
  • Automotive Production: Utilized in stamping plants, body shops, and vehicle assembly lines where heavy pneumatic clamping and tools run continuously.
  • Plastic Injection Molding: Fitted onto heavy molding machinery to manage the high-volume pneumatic venting that occurs during mold clamping and ejection cycles.
  • Packaging & Bottling: Deployed on pneumatic sorting, filling, and packaging machinery that operates at rapid speeds and requires constant cycling.

Specialty Application Variants:
  • Anti-Icing Applications: Deployed in rapid-cycling machinery where moisture in expanding exhaust air threatens to freeze and clog the muffler.
  • Continuous Outflow Systems: Utilizing Relief Valve Mufflers that feature built-in safety valves to automatically equalize pressure deviations and prevent complete line blockage.
  • Space-Constrained Machinery: Deploying the Bantam® Series, which utilizes the same air-collision design principles but features a much more compact profile.
