Bantam® Series

The ALWITCO Bantam® Series is a specialized line of tough, compact pneumatic silencers engineered specifically for industrial applications where installation space is highly limited. Manufactured by the Allied Witan Company, these mufflers provide heavy-duty noise reduction while maintaining a significantly smaller physical profile than the flagship Atomuffler® series.

The Bantam® Series is a specialized line of tough, compact pneumatic silencers engineered specifically for industrial applications where installation space is highly limited.
Manufactured by the Allied Witan Company, these mufflers provide heavy-duty noise reduction while maintaining a significantly smaller physical profile than the flagship Atomuffler® series.

The portfolio of applications for the ALWITCO Bantam® Series specifically centers on space-constrained pneumatic systems where a standard-sized silencer will not physically fit.
By relying on a compact, heavy-duty build, the Bantam series provides the same 85% noise reduction as full-sized Atomufflers but is tailored for smaller industrial geometries.

1. Equipment & Core Pneumatic Applications
The Bantam series is engineered to mount directly into tight mechanical spaces:
  • Compact Directional Control Valves: Integrated directly into the exhaust ports of manifold valves and tight control bank networks.
  • Small-Bore Miniature Cylinders: Attached to high-speed, short-stroke pneumatic cylinders commonly used in automation and sorting.
  • Pneumatic Tools & Handheld Equipment: Used on compact air-driven motors, mini-grinders, and localized instrumentation panels where tool weight and size are vital.
  • Enclosed Control Panels: Placed inside cramped electrical or pneumatic control boxes where exhaust air must be vented directly out of small side-wall clearances.
2. Application Categorization by Sub-Series
Allied Witan distributes Bantam models based on specific airflow mechanics:
  • Bantam Muffler (B-Series) — 360° Radial Dispersion: Used for general workplace safety to disperse exhaust velocity uniformly across a room. It is widely applied to packaging systems, electronics assembly lines, and printing presses.
  • End Flow Muffler (D-Series) — Directional Jet Venting: Applied where exhaust air cannot be dispersed laterally (for example, inside tight parallel piping slots). It forces the air straight out the front end.
  • Air Ejector Muffler (A-Series) — Parts Ejection & Blowing: Used on high-speed industrial presses, metal stamping, and molding machinery. It leverages a high-velocity stream to blow away debris, punch fragments, or eject completed parts from assembly dies.
3. Industry-Specific Profiles
  • Electronics & Semiconductor Manufacturing: The compact profile easily integrates into delicate pick-and-place robotic arms and PCB assembly modules.
  • Food, Beverage & Pharmaceutical Packaging: The optional stainless steel construction variant makes the Bantam series ideal for washdown environments or high-sterility lines.
  • Robotics & Cartesian Gantries: Perfect for moving end-of-arm tooling layouts where excessive weight or bulky components restrict rapid machinery movements.
