The Ardee Rotary Breaker HE Series utilizes the natural friability difference between coal and hard impurities. As the material travels through the rotating drum, coal repeatedly falls from controlled heights, causing it to fracture into the desired size. Hard rocks, shale, and other contaminants remain intact and are discharged separately, ensuring efficient separation without excessive fines generation.
Traditional rotary breakers employ thick perforated steel drums driven by chain and sprocket systems, resulting in excessive equipment weight, high power consumption, complex maintenance, and costly repairs. Heavy shell construction also limits the open screening area, reducing coal recovery efficiency and increasing misplaced coal in the reject stream.
Ardee overcomes these limitations through a completely re-engineered rotary breaker architecture. Instead of a heavy perforated shell, the drum consists of steel long sections reinforced with internal and external rings and fitted with a high-strength cast steel mesh mounted on an octagonal spine structure. This lightweight construction provides significantly greater structural strength while increasing the aperture-to-surface ratio, allowing faster material evacuation and minimizing valuable coal losses to overflow.
The system employs a direct-drive roller mechanism rather than conventional chain and sprocket drives. This innovative arrangement dramatically lowers mechanical friction and dead load, reducing energy consumption to approximately one-third of conventional rotary breakers. Lower power demand enables the use of smaller motors and gearboxes, further reducing installation costs and operating expenses.
Ardee's design also offers exceptional flexibility. Each rotary breaker can be engineered according to the customer's feed size, desired product size, coal friability characteristics, plant capacity, and operational requirements. The system can process feed material up to 1500 mm while delivering product sizes up to 100 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of coal handling and beneficiation applications.
