CSIR-CIMFR, Digwadih, Dhanbad and Ardee completed the development and testing of the first commercial scale On-Line Coal Washability Analyser as part of a Joint R&D programme. The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. It is a huge boost for Indian R&D and the Made in India focus. The technology was conceived, designed and executed in India by Indian scientists which countries all across the globe have been struggling with.

This is the first commercial scale project and we are quite excited about the tremendous advantages that the coal washeries in the country will have in terms of quality and yield optimisation through this technological breakthrough. Typically, for a medium-sized washery, the payback is less than 6 months due to better yields. A huge thanks to CMPDIL, Ranchi, the coordinating agency and the Ministry of Coal for facilitating the development of this technology.
